Hi-Point Queen or King: Will have the highest combined scores from the mandatory interview, evening wear, and casual wear.
Hi-Point Princess or Prince: Is the first alternate to High-Point Queen or King. One queen and king title is given in each age division (a contestant can win all pageant events except Hi-Point). This is also the requirement for the academic and the talent competition.
There will be 4 runners-up and 5 semi-finalists in their division. Of course, this will be contingent on the number of contestants in each age division.
Miss Academic: She will be crowned based on grade average over a period of time and essay composition.
Miss Photogenic: She will be crowned based on face personality and first impression. Photos can be professional or glamorous. Make sure the photo is of high quality.
Miss Leadership: She will be crowned on scores from community service, achievement, and essay speech.
Pro-Am Modeling: Usually glitzy, fast-paced, and consisting of many facial expressions, this area is usually for the more experienced but can be done by an inexperienced contestant with practice.
Miss Broadway: She will be crowned based on the best rendition of an actress/actor in a musical performance.
Miss Hostess: She will be crowned based on ingenuity in sponsorship and contestants' membership. Miss Hostess is a valuable component to Diamonds & Pearls.
Miss Congeniality: She will be crowned based on a charming, agreeable, and pleasing personality.
There will also be special awards given in the area of best smile, best dress, prettiest eyes, and prettiest hairstyle.
In the Casual Wear competition, no glitz and tricks are allowed. However, you can place a jacket, for instance, over your arm or shoulder or take off a hat and put it back on.
In the Talent and Broadway area, no dangerous acts are allowed. If you are using music, make sure that it is cued.
Contestants may compete as a group/duo within age division. However, only one overall winner will be selected to represent the group.
Your highest score from the Talent/Broadway competition will be used to determine the winner.
There will be 4 runners-up and 5 semi-finalists in their division. Each event shouldn't be any longer than 2-4 minutes, with 3-4 minutes going to the Talent and Broadway.
Scoring is based on skill, interpretative ability, technical skill level, stage presence, and totality of all elements, including costume, props, voice, and choreography.
All contestants must do at least one modeling event even though you may enter others. Remember, your highest score will be used.
